Community Involvement

CASA - Court Appointed Special AdvocatesLykins Energy Solutions has sponsored a golf outing every year for the last 24 years. The past 14 years have been for CASA for Clermont Kids.  This will be our 15th year for CASA. Our golf outing is a significant portion of the annual budget. This organization trains and uses volunteers to be advocates for  abused children in the court system.

CASA is now facing a heroin epidemic. One hundred more kids are in the foster system this year than last year. Most of those additional kids are victims of a parent addicted to heroin.

According to Nathan Bell, CASA Executive Director:  “At any given time there are approximately 350 children in the custody of Children’s Services.  Additional abused or neglected children are in need but remain in the homes of their abuser with court intervention.  CASA is only able to serve about half of the children in need”.

CASA provides help and support for these children, CASA gives them a voice in the court where it is most needed.  CASA makes sure the best interest of the child is the most important thing during court proceedings, which is why it is so important to keep this program funded.

The children of CASA have nowhere else to turn, which is why Lykins Energy Solutions feels very strongly about this program. If the community does not step up to help these abused and neglected children, they have little chance of survival and becoming a productive member of society.
